You are now four months old! Well, as of two days ago. Sorry I’m a little late. I’ve been super busy at work and at home. My boss is gone for the week and things have been CRAY at work. Yes, cray. Ahem.

So the first photo is from two days ago down by the lake in Kirkland on our lunch break. We enjoyed the sun! The second is in the car on the way to visit your gma and gpa in E.Wa (RHYMES!). Cute little toes! The third is you enjoying tummy time. You enjoy it now, but only for the first few minutes, then you get frustrated/tired again. It’s okay. I know it’s hard work.

Time for observations of three month old you:

-You are grooooowing so big! It surprises me nearly every day how much you grow in your sleep. I mean, really, it’s amazing. You have your 4 month appt tomorrow at the Dr. (I’m sorry!) so we’ll see just how much you’ve grown then.

-You have such an amazingly beautiful laugh! You like to laugh when I play peek-a-boo with your feet over my eyes, when I blow raspberries on your neck, and when I kiss your tummy. Oh! Today you laughed while we bounced in the mei tai carrier I use at work now. That was the firs time you’ve laughed at bouncing.

-You still need lots of naps (4-5 hrs worth each day), and you’re still waking up between 1-3 times a night. The last few nights have been 3 times, and then up for good at 6:30am. Mommy is tired.

-Last week sometime (or maybe the week before?) you woke up making pterodactyl screams of joy! Then you proceeded to scream in as high a pitch as you could manage (which is VERY high) for the next 45 mins. Straight. No stopping. Oh wow. I had a migraine after that, but I still love you. And you’re still adorable. Now you are mixing the screams with other noises so that’s good and easier on the brain.

-You fit into some 3-6 month clothing because of your length- long baby! You’re still kinda scrawny compared to other babies your age, but that’s okay too. You do have a little leg roll and it looks like you have rubber bands on your wrists. :)

-When your dad holds you next to him you look JUST like him. It’s INSANE. When I hold you though people say you look like me, so I don’t know. You’re a good mix I suppose. But sometimes your facial expressions are ALL dad. I love it.

-You’re getting so much personality! It’s wonderful to see you develop, learn, and become someone different from me or your daddy. It’s all such an amazing and awesome (truly) experience. I’m already convinced that you need siblings some day, but dad says “we’ll see how this one turns out.” Haha! He loves you soo so very much.

Okay, that’s all for now. You’re currently sleeping on my chest. I love you!

Well baby, it’s time to tell your birth story while I have a few minutes! It’s a long story, and it was a long labor. You’re sitting next to me right now in your bouncy chair and starting to fuss a bit.

(For those who might be squeemish, you might want to just look at the cute pictures and move on as this is a birth story!)

I had to leave to go feed you, but I’m back now! Three days later, haha. It’s a lot of work caring for you, but it is the best job I’ve ever had, or probably ever will have.

Our Bucket Travel List

I thought it might be nice to put this somewhere. We have one rule: never travel to the same place twice (Disneyland excluded, of course).

Our Bucket Travel List in a Very Particular Order:

Spend at least a two weeks in Ireland. Explore, and stay one night (minimum!) in a castle.
EDIT: Forgot New Zealand! THE HORROR! Because, Hobbiton, duh!
Alaska: a cruise. Because we’ve always wanted to do that.
Iceland: see all the nature! Oh. It’s gorgeous there.
Drink Mai Tais together on the beach in the Bahamas. Snorkel, too.
Then go to Paris, Rome, Athens. Eat. All. The. Food.
RE: above: see ALL the art as well.
Sweden: I’m not sure what we’ll do, but I’m sure it’d be fun.
Costa Rica: because, why not, and the food!
Kawaii: because neither of us have been to that island, and I hear it’s beautiful.
New York (okay, so we’ve been once, but didn’t get to do this part), see ALL the plays!
